Newburyport Literary Festival
Held the last weekend in April since 2006, the Newburyport Literary Festival began as an effort to increase the city’s interest in reading and literary arts. Local authors and national figures are invited to sign their books and chat. School children create projects to show to an author that may visit their school.
Spring Invitation Nights
The first two Friday nights in May, Downtown Newburyport and The Tannery invite you to shop and eat into the evening during Newburyport’s Spring Invitation Nights. Enjoy merchant hospitality, light refreshments and an opportunity to find a perfect gift for Mom, your favorite graduate, or yourself!
Yankee Homecoming
This annual Newburyport tradition was the brain child of Jack Frost in 1930 but did not come to fruition until 1958. An eight-day celebration with over 200 events that brings additional tourists to Newburyport to experience the historic, scenic, and cultural offerings to life in the city.

Newburyport Film Festival
Presented by The Newburyport Film Society, the Newburyport Documentary Film Festival takes place each September with screenings at various locations in historic downtown Newburyport, including, The Screening Room and The Firehouse Center for the Arts.

Newburyport Eagle Festival
Did you know that it takes four to five years for bald eagles to get their white heads? That the average wingspan for a bald eagle is almost seven feet? There are all kinds of interesting facts to learn about bald eagles, and the Merrimack River Eagle Festival is the place to ask the questions and get the answers.
